What happens when Olivia Pope meets Annalise Keating?
ABC recently announced that a “How to Get Away with Murder” crossover event is in the works.
“Scandal” star Kerry Washington kicked off a Twitter storm when she posted a picture of herself in full gladiator mode on the set of “How to Get Away with Murder” with the caption: “Hey Ms @violadavis – check it out. This spot look familiar?! Where are you?”
Viola Davis, star of “How to Get Away with Murder,” returned the favor by Tweeting a photo of herself inside the White House with the caption: Hey @KerryWashington, guess where I am?!”
Shonda Rhimes, who created “Scandal” and is the executive producer for both shows, stoked the flames when she tweeted a partial copy of a script with the two powerhouse characters meeting.
This will mark the first crossover between the shows. According to ABC, the crossover will begin on a new episode of “Scandal” at 9 p.m. and conclude on the episode of “How to Get Away with Murder,” which airs immediately after at 10 p.m. The date has not been announced.
“Scandal” is wrapping up its seventh and final season and this is “How to Get Away with Murder’s” fourth season. Both shows return to ABC on Jan. 18, along with the long-running series “Grey’s Anatomy,” also a part of the Shondaland family.
