It’s official. Pop singer Ciara, 30, and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, 27, tied the knot in a romantic wedding ceremony at the Peckforton Castle in Liverpool, England on Wednesday, according to US Weekly. Ciara wore a couture gown by Roberto Cavalli and Wilson wore a black tux by Georgio Armani.
The couple, who announced their engagement in March, pledged their love in front of 100 guests, including the bride’s close friend Jennifer Hudson. The star-studded bridal party included actress LaLa Anthony, tennis star Serena Williams and singer Kelly Rowland.
The Super Bowl champion proposed to the “Promise” singer while on vacation in the Seychelles with a 16-carat ring after a year-long courtship. The two spoke publicly about their decision to remain celibate before marriage.
Wilson, a devout Christian, told The Rock Church in San Diego, "I asked her, 'What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus' way, no sex? I knew God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me and to bless so many people with the impact that she has and I have. We're not going to be perfect, by any means."
After the wedding, Ciara posted a picture on Instagram with the caption, “We are the Wilsons.”
This is Ciara’s first marriage. She has a son, Future Zahir, with her ex-fiance, rapper Future. Wilson was previously married.
