Solange Knowles is a married woman. Beyonce’s little sister wed music video director Alan Ferguson on Sunday in New Orleans.
Vanity Fair reported that the wedding weekend began Friday night with a special screening of “Mahogany,” the 1975 cult classic starring Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams, which Knowles and Ferguson watched on their first date. It is no secret that Solange is a big fan of The Boss and often sports a glorious Ross-like mane of hair.
On Sunday, Knowles, 28, and Ferguson, 51, were joined by close family and friends, including Knowles’s big sister Beyonce, Jay Z, Blue Ivy and mom Tina, all wearing white for an elegant wedding ceremony that took place at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans, according to People. The bride and groom arrived on white vintage bicycles, with Knowles wearing an amazing off-white jump suit by Stéphane Rolland (the first of three).
The bride-to-be quickly changed into a stunning caped white Humberto Leon for Kenzo gown for her “I dos” with Ferguson.
Ever the fashionista, Knowles, who acts, sings and DJ’s, changed again for the reception, donning a third white outfit, an airy wrap dress, that lent itself to the dance she performed with her son, Daniel, 10, from a previous marriage. The two danced a cute, well-choreographed routine to “No Flex Zone.”
After the wedding, a festive parade through the streets of New Orleans took place, replete with a brass band and sparklers.
This is Knowle’s second marriage. In 2004, Knowles married Daniel Smith. The two have a son, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr.
