Perched atop a grand piano in a skintight black dress, Mariah Carey debuted her new single, “Your Mine” at the 2014 BET Honors taped recently at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The 3-hour long show will air on BET on Feb. 24.

That is just one of the many highlight’s of the star-studded program, which honors soul legend Aretha Franklin (Musical Arts Award), rapper/actor Ice Cube (Entertainment Award), music mogul Berry Gordy (Visionary Award), American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault (Corporate Citizen Award) and artist Carrie Mae Weems (Visual Arts Award).

The evening was hosted by the multi-talented Wayne Brady, who can be seen on BET’s hit drama, “Being Mary Jane.”

Look for stellar performances from the energetic Janelle Monae, who paid tribute to Gordy with the Jackson 5 classic, “I Want You Back,” and Smokey Robinson’s passionate performance of “Tracks of My Tears.” Tamar Braxton channels Diana Ross with “Upside Down” and Jennifer Hudson pays homage to the Queen of Soul, before Franklin takes to the stage, draped in a chinchilla and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and belts out “A Change is Gonna Come.”
